This trail introduces you to Algonquin’s beaver pond ecology. You will see the effects that beavers had on the landscape.
A boardwalk brings you across the first beaver pond that is located near the start of the trail. Moose have frequently been spotted to the left of this pond.

A set of stairs will bring up towards a beaver dam and other beaver lodges on Amikeus Lake. Beaver have been observed up close working hard on this dam. The trail gradually winds it’s way up to a beautiful lookout overlooking the first beaver pond that was crossed near the start of the hike.

Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be kept leashed.
