This is a long but not strenuous trek through forests of maple and pine, wet boggy areas, ponds, lakes, boardwalks, and unused rail bed.
We recommend starting this trail earlier in the day to better your chances of seeing wildlife. Excellent trail for seeing turtles as this is a study site.
This trail can at times be wet and muddy. You will see at least 9 ponds and several lakes as you walk along boardwalks and along the railway bed. Popular with birdwatchers as it’s one of the best trails to observe all 4 of the boreal bird species such as Spruce Grouse, Boreal Chickadee, Black-backed Woodpecker and Grey Jays.
Pets are not allowed on this trail.
